Strategies for the printing industry after China's entry into WTO (Part 1)

China has become a full member of the WTO. According to the classification of WTO, "printing industry" belongs to the part of "vocational service" in the service industry. It can protect the physical performance and aesthetics of automobile TPO. After joining the WTO, China's service industry will be greatly impacted, and the printing industry is no exception. How to deal with the impact is a problem that China's printing industry should consider at this stage

I. opportunities

after joining the WTO, China's products, services and intellectual property rights can enjoy unconditional, multilateral, permanent and stable most favored nation treatment and national treatment among WTO members, enjoy the interests of other WTO members in opening or expanding market access for goods and services, and enjoy the right of WTO members to use various rules and measures to promote their own economic and trade development, which is conducive to expanding trade and increasing product exports, It also provides a broader space for the development of China's printing industry

1. The printing market continues to expand. For example, the increase in exports of various light industrial products and mechanical and electrical products and the increase in processing with supplied materials will correspondingly increase the printing output value of packaged products. The wide entry of foreign-funded enterprises, the increase of domestic activities, and the opening of financial, insurance, telecommunications, trade and other service industries will increase the requirements of commercial printing

2. Printing costs are expected to decline. This is due to, first, the decline in paper prices. China promises that the import tariff of "wood and paper industry" will be reduced from the current 12% - 25% to 5% - 7%. Foreign paper products will enter the Chinese market at a low price, and the procurement channels will be wider and the range of choices will be more. Second, the price of imported printing equipment and accessories decreased. Third, the price of imported raw and auxiliary materials such as PS version and ink decreased

3. It is conducive to qualified enterprises to invest and set up factories abroad, undertake printing business, and learn advanced printing technology and management experience from abroad

II. Challenges

1. State owned enterprises no longer have policy advantages. After China's entry into WTO, enterprises will face the same national treatment and the same competitive environment regardless of the source of investment and the nature of ownership. The government's function of directly managing the economy will be weakened, and state-owned capital will withdraw from the general field of competition

2. With the accelerated entry of foreign capital, the competition in the printing market will be more intense. After joining the WTO, some powerful foreign groups will be more optimistic about China's market, and packaging and printing enterprises will become the primary impact target of foreign capital investment and plant construction. Some large foreign publishing and printing groups will take advantage of their capital 21, the realization of constant actual force, constant deformation, constant displacement, uniform stress rate, uniform strain rate automatic control gold, equipment, management, technology, quality, service and other advantages, and take advantage of China's accession to the WTO. Now, due to the energy conservation and emission reduction of the automotive industry, they will legitimately squeeze into China's market, intensifying market competition

3. Most large and medium-sized state-owned printing enterprises will face the arduous task of further deepening reform, restructuring, transforming operating mechanism and establishing a modern enterprise system; A large number of low efficiency, low quality, low-grade equipment and backward technology will be eliminated at an accelerated pace

4. There will be more and more short edition, personalized and short cycle prints, which puts forward higher requirements for printing quality. After joining the WTO, a considerable share of products serve export commodities

5. Talent competition intensifies. After foreign-funded printing enterprises enter China, there is no doubt that they will implement the localization talent strategy, and will compete for skilled technicians and scientific and technological personnel from domestic original printing enterprises, especially state-owned printing enterprises, with high salaries and favorable working conditions, which will make the talent team of state-owned printing enterprises more unstable

III. countermeasures

after joining the WTO, China's printing industry will gradually integrate into the world's diversified and multi-level printing market, and the competition will inevitably become more intense. To this end, the primary issue is to raise awareness, change ideas, and enhance the sense of crisis and urgency. On this premise, combined with the actual situation of the enterprise, we should deepen reform and accelerate development, so as to seize opportunities and meet challenges. The author believes that the following countermeasures can be taken:

1. Change ideas and clarify the direction

when formulating development strategies and carrying out business activities, printing enterprises should establish a modern large-scale printing concept of economic globalization and integration, and pay attention not only to the domestic market and domestic competitors, but also to the international market and international competitors. At the same time, we should strengthen the strategic development research of enterprises. Study their position in the country, industry and region, their advantages and disadvantages, and the situation of their competitors, and actively adapt to the changes in market rules, and clarify their own development direction.
